AHPA comprises more than 400 domestic and foreign companies doing business as growers, processors, manufacturers, and marketers of herbs and herbal products, including foods, dietary supplements, cosmetics, and non-prescription drugs. Founded in 1982, AHPA’s Mission is to promote the responsible and sustainable commerce of herbal products to ensure that consumers have informed access to a wide variety of safe herbal goods.

AHPA holds representation with Congress, state and local governments, the scientific community, and federal regulatory agencies such as FDA, FTC, and USDA. APHA also has strong self-regulation with the AHPA code of ethics, guidance policies, and diverse committees.
